August 8, 2008 - Terry Zane, 57, a 17-year veteran music teacher, was arrested on 100 counts on suspicion of possessing child pornography.

Police were alerted when Zane took his desktop computer to a local repair shop, reportedly for some adjustments. The shop owner called police, saying he had found child pornography pictures on the hard drive.

An examination of the computer yielded more than 1,000 pictures of children, 3 to 17 years old, posing in the nude, and other 5- to 6-year-olds engaged in sex acts with adults.

I was very close to Mr. Zane when I attended Tehipite. The whole class was. We even kept in contact with him in high school. Some of us still see him now I hear. I am 100% positive he is no threat to his students. Mr Zane is a wonderful band instructor and students can learn a lot from him.

Shame on Fresno Police for arresting this man on child porn charges. Isn't a person innocent until proven guilty or is the other way around? If any person wants to look at young girls and/or boys, so be it! As long as he isn't molesting kids, a crime hasn't been committed!

TT - It takes a particular moral vacuity to think that no child is harmed when an adult buys or views child pornography. No three-year-old child ever volunteers to be sexually violated just so a pervert can be aroused by the images. No child wants to have pictures of the obscene acts traded around the world like baseball cards. But that's what child pornography is. It's what child pornographers do. That's what pedophiles pay for because normal adults don't find such images anything but repulsive and deeply disgusting.

When someone can accept the sexual defilement and violation of five-year-old children so some pedophiles can be entertained and aroused, you have to wonder at their mental and moral state.

NOT GUILTY PLEA August 13 - Zane pleaded not guilty. The judge ordered the media not to show Zane's face on camera.

Zane remains in the Fresno County Jail on $250,000 bail, according to CBS47.tv. A pre-preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 18 and a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 25.
