Time to update those yearbooks.

August 11, 2008 - Joel L. Bedenbaugh, 46, was arrested on three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, accused of sexually assaulting a girl at a Marion Street address between 2003 and 2005. At the time, the girl was less than 11 years old.

Bedenbaugh was sentenced in November 2006 to five years, suspended to two years of probation after admitting to having inappropriate contact with a young girl. The incidents Bedenbaugh pleaded guilty to happened at his home.

In addition to having taught at St. Mary Help of Christians School, Bedenbaugh has been an employee of the Aiken County School District and an employee at a Georgia school. He has also taught privately at his residence and has served as an instructor with the Gateway summer arts enrichment program.
