The news item is in a Canadian newspaper. At first, we thought that they'd taken Sharia law too far in Toronto.

July 21, 2008 - Eight women and one man have been condemned to be stoned to death in Tehran. The eight women, ranging in age from 27 to 43, had convictions including prostitution, incest and adultery. The man, a 50-year-old music teacher, was convicted of illegal sex with a student.

ADDED: Another story reported the teacher was also a trade unionist, so maybe the sentence was not excessive. J/K
