Franca sentenced to 240 days in jail - not prison - and registration as a sex offender for life.
Dec 16, 2006 - Franca Munoz-Juvera, 26, a Lakeside High School math teacher has been arrested on suspicion of lewd acts with a female student while the suspect's twin sister, Antonia Munoz-Juvera, 26, -- also a Lakeside
teacher -- was arrested and accused of not reporting the alleged child abuse. Also arrested was Eileen Valerio.
The sisters, both in their first year in the school district, have been placed on administrative leave.

UPDATE: Jan 18, 2007 - Father's hunch lead to arrest. In September the father of the 16-year-old girl read an e-mail from from Franca Munoz-Juvera to his daughter and became suspicious. After talking to his daughter, he contacted the principal, vice principal and a sheriff's deputy. The vice principal later notified him that a background check showed nothing and no actions would be taken against the teacher, according to the father's account found in a request for a restraining order. He had to tape telephone conversations to get sufficient evidence for authorities to act.
COURT APPEARANCE Jan 23 - Court appearance scheduled for today, Friday by the latest. Valero is identified as the girlfriend of Antonia Munoz-Juvera by the victim. She posed as a student to drive the victim to meet with the teacher. Police are speculating that Valero might have been victimized when she attended Colony High.
"It makes sense," [Police detective Greco] said. "She was a student there. Her teacher taught there."
Update Mar 5 - On Monday, Lake Elsinore police detectives forwarded their reports to prosecutors, said detective Sgt. Evan Peterson. Prosecutors may soon decide whether to charge Franca and Antonia Munoz Juvera, 26-year-old twin sisters who live in the Rancho Cucamonga area in San Bernardino County.
ARRAIGNMENT SCHEDULED Oct 11 - After nearly a year, the three were charged in connection with a case of lewd acts with an underage girl who was a student at the school.. Court records state that arrest warrants have been issued for them and they are scheduled to be arraigned at the Hall of Justice in Riverside today.
CREDENTIAL SUSPENDED Oct 13 - Franca Munoz-Juvera's teaching credential was suspended because she was charged Tuesday with sexually abusing a minor, said Mary Armstrong, general counsel for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
The school district has hired or designated an outside investigator to look into the Adelanto district's procedures that allowed the Munoz-Juvera sisters to be hired. He declined to comment further. (See entry on suspension.)

How could a woman dismissed from teaching in another district and under investigation for a sex crime involving a minor end up in Adelanto teaching children?
And then the reporter answers the question,
The Riverside Press Enterprise reported the policy of the Lake Elsinore school district was to answer all questions honestly and accurately when called as a reference, but that they do not volunteer information.
As for state records, it can take months before a credential is flagged.
GUILTY PLEA April 26, 2008 - Franca Munoz-Juvera
pleaded guilty on Friday to committing a lewd act with a minor. She will be sentenced June 6. The judge
told her that she could face from a year in jail to three years in prison when she is sentenced and that she will be required to
register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.
Munoz-Juvera's twin sister and another woman pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of being accessories after the fact for helping the former math teacher spend the night with the girl. They will be sentenced June 6th.

sex offender for the rest of her life.Her twin sister, Antonia Munoz-Juvera , and Eileen Valerio, were both sentenced to four months in jail on a work release program and three years probation for being accessories after the fact.
