San Jacinto, CALIFORNIA

One of two teachers arrested in Riverside County on Thursday.

May 2, 2008 - Jack McLaughlin, 71, a theatre arts teacher at San Jacinto High School, was arrested and booked on suspicion of two counts of oral copulation with a person under 16 and four counts of lewd and lascivious behavior with a child under 14.

McLaughlin is accused of molesting a boy over a period of nearly a year beginning when the boy was under 14 years old. Police arrested McLaughlin at Rancho San Jacinto Park where police had arranged some sort of meeting. (ABC7 reports that he was arrested at his home.)

McLaughlin is being held at Southwest Detention Center. The investigation began when family members of the boy contacted police.
