May 2, 2008 - Ricky Bonds, 30, a Salesian High School biology teacher, was arrested on "numerous counts of sexual activity with a minor" - a 16-year-old female student.
Oddly enough, the school and police learned about the relationship when the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests distributed leaflets, in front of the private Catholic school in April to draw attention to the allegations.
"I got several calls from several students saying there was ongoing abuse there and that everybody knew about it, and what my biggest question to the faculty there is why wasn't this reported before?" wondered SNAP's Joey Pisitelli.Be sure to see the video report at the site.
In a written statement, Salesian administrators reported placing Bonds on leave immediately upon learning of the allegations, as well as notifying authorities.
