June 23 - Two people arrested in case of framed teacher.
Police found an unloaded shotgun, prescription drugs and marijuana packaged for sale in his car in the school parking lot.
May 29, 2008 - Gregory Abbott, 31, a Sunny Hills High School history teacher, was arrested after illicit drugs and an unloaded shotgun were found in his car in the school parking lot after polcie received an anonymous phone tip that said Abbott was selling drugs.
After receiving permission from Abbott to search his car, they found the shotgun, prescription drugs and marijuana packaged for sale, police said. Police said the marijuana and drugs were packaged in a manner consistent with sales and distribution. (Source: CBS2)
HOWEVER, police discovered that the drugs and a shotgun were planted in his car, according to a Fullerton police report. His estranged wife and one of her male acquaintances have been named as persons of interest but have not - yet - been arrested in the plot.

Investigators are now convinced that Gregory Abbott, 31, of Placentia, who has taught at Sunny Hills High School for seven years, is innocent and was actually a victim, said Sgt. Mike MacDonald of the Fullerton Police Department.He said the gun and drugs were not his, and a follow-up investigation "revealed he was telling the truth," MacDonald said.

WIFE AND MAN ARRESTED (Orange County Register) June 22, 2008 - Police arrested Abbot's wife and a 42-year-old man. Both are being held on $750,000 bail. Devon Abbott, 33, and Soloman Silver, 42, face arraignment Monday at North Justice Center. The Abbotts filed for divorce in February 2007, citing irreconcilable differences. They have equal custody of their two children.
June 23 - 2 accused of setting up teacher for drug bust appear in court
Each face one felony count of conspiracy to falsely charge a crime, one felony count of false imprisonment by fraud, one felony count of conspiracy to commit a crime, one felony count of second-degree vehicular burglary, and one felony count of transportation of marijuana.
June 23 Arraignment for couple delayed
Silver gave false reports against Gregory Abbott with the California Highway Patrol and Brea, Placentia and Fullerton police departments, and told Fullerton officers on May 27 that Gregory Abbott sold him drugs, the release said. Arraignment was postponed and rescheduled to July 10.
