March 7, 2008 - Christopher Gordon, 23, a teacher's aide, was arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted a female student at Oakdale Academy, a private school. He is charged with sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to law enforcement sources, Gordon allegedly rubbed his penis on the 5-year-old victim between Jan. 1 and March 5. Gordon is accused of playing 'the doctor game' with the girl in the bathroom. The incident came to light when the girl told her mother, who in turn filed a report with police.
Detectives believe there may be other victims and are asking anyone to contact the Staten Island Special Victims Unit. [No number provided.]
June 17 - Gordon pleaded guilty to count of first-degree sex abuse for molesting a 5-year-old student. He will be sentenced July 16.
Gordon was accused of five instances of abuse in which he allegedly made his young victim sit on his lap and bounce or stand with her back against the wall while he rubbed his genitals on her inside the bathroom of the Oakdale Academy on Victory Boulevard.The plea agreement calls for 2 1/2 years in prison, followed by 3-10 years of post-release supervision. He will have to register as a sex offender. Gordon is married with children of his own.
He was fired immediately after his arrest.
SENTENCED July 16 - Gordon was sentenced to two and one-half years in state prison. Justice Leonard P. Rienzi also ordered Gordon to spend 10 years under post-release supervision and register as a sex offender.
