March 25, 2008 - The Nashua school district is trying to hire 900 subsitutes for the planned March 31 strike. It is illegal for public employees to strike in New Hampshire. The superintendent is recommending that teachers who strike be fired.

Board asks for hefty fines in case of strike
The board of education is asking the courts to fine the Nashua Teachers Union and each of its officers $10,000 a day if they follow through on a threat to go on strike next week.
