A local elementary teacher on paid-leave for coming to school drunk was pulled over by police and given a ticket for driving with a suspended license nearly two weeks ago.TT - The teacher wasn't named in December either when she was arrested. (Third time in a year.) Despite being asked to, the state superintendent's office never investigated because - and this is priceless - the alleged behavior happened during summer break and it didn't affect students or the district.
Police stopped the first grade Camas Elementary teacher near Grandview and is being charged with second degree driving with a suspended license, which under law, could be taken away for more than a year.
The teacher is currently on probation for a hit and run, DUI and reckless endangerment charges from the winter of 2006. There is also a charge of leaving kids in a car to drink at a bar.
The Wapato school district put the educator on leave last year for allegedly coming to school drunk and leaving parents and other teachers to take care of students during a field trip.
That was before her arrest for leaving her own child in a car while she went into a bar. She was suspended for leaving a group of children alone during a field trip while she vomited in the field and then passed out on a school bus.
