Feb 8, 2008 - Brendan Stanley, 31, was charged with second-degree kidnapping of the 9-year-old girl in 2005 met her when he was an aide at James Elementary School.
Today the trial was put on hold. Judge Michael Mullins ruled that Stanley "suffers from a mental disorder which prevents him from fully appreciating the charges, from fully understanding that proceeding, and from assisting effectively in his defense."Stanley was sent to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center at Oakdale, where officials will submit a status report within a month.
