Jan 11, 2008 - Heather Chesser, 26, a substitute teacher at Phoenix School**, was arrested after a grand jury indicted her on two counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure.
An investigation began in December after school officials alerted investigators to inappropriate contact between a teacher and a student. The victim is a 17-year-old male.
A Jan 25 court date has been scheduled.

ARRAIGNMENT & NOT GUILTY PLEA Jan 28 - Chesser asked for a court-appointed attorney to represent her as the case goes forward. The court assigned an attorney who entered a plea of not guilty on behalf of her client. Case is continued until May 9.
