Jan 23, 2008 - Frank Gleason, 60, a assistant principal and athletic director at Carrabec High School, pleaded guilty to to sexual abuse of a 15-year-old Carrabec student. The open plea means that the judge will determine the sentence.
Gleason admitted in a taped phone conversation to sexual contact with the boy that occurred on the night of Dec. 21, when Gleason gave him a ride home following a basketball game. Gleason pulled the boy toward him, hugging, kissing him and then fondling him. The sexual abuse charge is a misdemeanor.
He also has stepped down as pastor of Maranatha Assembly in Anson. Gleason's lawyer is Josh Tardy of Newport, Republican leader in the state House of Representatives.
