Seabrook, NEW HAMPSHIRE

Nov 5, 2007 - A teacher prohibited from seeing her own son due to her alcoholism, told a judge she expects to return to her job as a Seabrook elementary school teacher on Nov. 14.

Holly Spreen pleaded guilty to charges of reckless conduct and simple assault. In exchange for those pleas, Spreen was sentenced to two years in jail, with all but 30 days suspended pending two years of good behavior. At the time of her arrest she was out on bail conditions ordering her to be of good behavior for a prior charge of assaulting her husband while under the influence of alcohol.

The judge noted a letter of proof of Spreen’s enrollment in a Florida rehab program described her “prognosis” as “only fair.”

Her arrest in July was highly publicized. She dropped the two-year-old boy boarding a ferry, horrifying spectators. Her blood levels showed she was SIX times over the legal limit.
