Mansfield, OHIO

July 2, 2007 - A Malabar Middle School teacher is suing Mansfield Board of Education to get her job back.

She was placed on administrative leave in March 2006 while they investigated the achievement tests. The teacher was accused of helping students. In April, they placed her on unpaid leave. A referee recommended firing her after a finding of facts that she directed students to erase answers on the tests. She was fired May 15. The test scores for 13 students in Fry’s class were invalidated based upon the impropriety in test-taking procedures, according to information listed in the referee’s decision.
