Paso Robles, CALIFORNIA

Jan 16, 2007 - The parents of a boy molested by a special education teacher are suing the Paso Robles Public School District for $5 million.

Michael Fitch was convicted of committing a lewd and lascivious act on a child and providing a minor with pornography for the July 2006 molestation. He was sentenced to three years in prison.

Fitch was a summer school special education teacher at Daniel E. Lewis elementary school at the time.

May 29 - The parents are also suing two school districts and the county Office of Education for allegedly failing to supervise a teacher who molested a teenage student. Fitch was working for the Office of Education at a middle school in Paso Robles when he performed forced oral copulation on the boy in a classroom after a summer school class in July 2006.
