Holmes has two prior convictions, including assault on a 7-year-old student in Philadelphia, as well as two acquittals and a no-contest plea. All involve similar offenses with children.How could someone like that be teaching? And why is the Philadelphia school chief honored, "despite budget woes and a high dropout rate, as a top U.S. leader by U.S. News and World Report and Harvard University's Center for Public Leadership?
