Teacher Misconduct

July 1, 2008 - The Palm Beach Post found three Treasure Coast educators' licenses were
permanently revoked last school year. They were:

•Shawn Trotter, social studies teacher at South Fork High School.
Trotter, a Vero Beach resident, last year pleaded no contest to three counts of sexual activity with a 16-year-old female student.
[TT - Trotter was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by 10 years probation. He will also have to register as a sex offender. entry]

•Terrance Sneed, physical education teacher at St. Lucie West Centennial High School.
He was arrested in August 2003 after a 14-year-old girl reported she had two sexual encounters with him while she was a member of the track team. Sneed entered a plea of no contest in 2005. Sneed was permanently barred from re-applying for a state teaching certificate.

•Steven Maffucci, a language arts teacher at Treasure Coast High School.
Last fall, Maffucci was charged with sending sexual online and cell phone text messages to three female students.
