June 12, 2008 - Kevin Thomas, 40, a special education teacher's assistant and coach at Birmingham High School, was arrested and charged with one count of lewd act on a child 15; five counts of 
sexual penetration by a foreign object while the victim was unconscious; five counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object on a child under 18; and one count of possession of child pornography.
The victim came forward this week on the advice of her parents, police said. The molestation allegedly occurred between 2004 to 2006.

After officers arrested him, they found videos in his car showing him with the first accuser who came forward and another they identified Thursday, the detective said.On Thursday, three more girls came forward saying they had been fondled.
One of the other two girls told one of her coaches that she had been touched, and another broke down in hysterics when told about Thomas' arrest, prompting an administrator to call police, he said.
