June 6, 2008 - Christopher Jefferson, 37, a Tarpon Springs High School geography teacher, was arrested Thursday on a charge he stalked a co-worker for more than a year, police said. He was arrested when he went to her house uninvited to harass her, police said
The woman is a teacher at the school and the two were once romantically involved, according to the Tampa Tribune. The woman told police Jefferson had harassed her since early 2007 through phone calls and unsolicited visits to her home.
The district's Office of Professional Standards is also investigating the matter, will review the finalized police report, and "continue to monitor the situation over the summer and make an appropriate recommendation (regarding his employment status) at a later time."
