It's federal sentencing. No parole.
June 5, 2008 - Michael Monnat, 61, a school bus driver and elementary lunch room monitor for the Union-Endicott school district,
was sentenced to six years in prison for possession of child por
nography.
Police started looking at Monnat after he asked a 10-year-old student at Charles Johnson Elementary School for her e-mail account and took a picture of her with his cellular telephone. The girl told her mother, and her mother told Endicott police.Monnat worked for the Union-Endicott School district for 20 years. He also worked with the Endicott Youth Baseball girls softball league. The Endicott Youth Baseball League relieved him of his duties as a board member when he was arrested.
Investigators set up a sting, and Monnat e-mailed the girl. Police got a search warrant for Monnat's home computer and found the images.
He pleaded guilty in January after detectives found more than 600 images of child pornography downloaded onto his home computer.
