Twenty-four years old and a registered sex offender for life. The victim was 11.

May 10, 2008 - Shelisa Nuzum, 24, was sentenced to six months in jail - not prison - followed by three years' probation after which she must register as a sex offender for life.

Nuzum was a teacher's aide at Pacheco Elementary School. She pleaded guilty in March to two counts of annoying or molesting a child for sending "flirtatious" messages to an 11-year-old boy and allowing him to touch her over her clothing.

Redding police have said that the mother of the alleged victim contacted authorities last month after she discovered numerous messages on her son’s Internet MySpace page, messages that had been sent back and forth between her son and Nuzum.

The court ordered that she participate in a treatment program for sex offenders.
