April 4, 2008 - Brenda Fant, 31, a special education teacher at Arkansas High School, was arrested on a charge of first-degree sexual assault of a 17-year old male.
She was suspended with pay.

RESIGNATION April 21 - She is accused of performing sexual acts with a 17-year-old student off campus in December of 2007, according to a police report. Fant resigned from the Texarkana School District last week.
Arraignment is scheduled for May 29.
Police became aware of the allegations when a former Arkansas High School teacher provided a written statement to [Superintendent Russell] Sapaugh.TT - Yet they arrested her.
The former teacher said Fant told her about what took place with the student. The former teacher also took photographs of Fant’s bruised arms because “the student had possibly physically assaulted” Fant, according to investigative records.
