Three prior domestic violence injunctions in the last three years have been filed against him by two different women

Feb 29, 2008 - John Elias, 45, a Golden Apple nominee teacher, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence battery and was being held without bond at Lee County Jail.

He is accused of battering his pregnant daughter. The Department of Children and Families was notified. Lee County High Tech North is a vocational school where Elias teaches culinary arts. . The campus is part of the Lee County Public School System and is governed by the Lee County School Board.

Mar 3 - Elias returned to the classroom today. School spokesman Joe Donzelli said the district’s professional standards bureau is currently conducting an investigation to determine whether any disciplinary action should be taken against Elias, who has been with the vocational school since it opened in 1993. Donzelli declined to say how long that investigation could take.
