Pittsville, MARYLAND

Prosecutors said they hope Herrman's sentence will help deter other people from similar behavior involving children. Uh, yeah.
It's another love-sick college student trolling for sex in a public school.

Feb 23, 2008 - Jenna Herrman, 23, a Salisbury University student-observer at Pittsville Elementary and Middle School, pleaded guilty to third-degree sex offense for having sex with a 14-year-old student.

Four other counts of third-degree sex offense were dismissed. Wicomico County Circuit Court Judge Donald C. Davis sentenced Herrman to five years, suspending four years.

As an SU student studying to be a teacher, Herrman was placed in the school in September to watch instruction methods once a week, a school system spokeswoman said. Police said she began having sex with the male student soon after.
In addition to serving a year at the Wicomico County Detention Center, Davis ordered Herrman to undergo drug and alcohol treatment and a mental health evaluation.
