Probation for indecently assaulting an 8-year-old girl?

Feb 14, 2008 - Taurus Gilbert, 32, a a third-grade teacher at Hamilton Elementary School, was convicted in 2003 of indecently assaulting an eight-year-old student.

He was sentenced to 10 years' probation as a sex offender. He also was placed on the Megan's Law Web site for 10 years and directed to register with the state police and get a new photo taken for the site every 12 months.

A reporter writing a story on the accuracy of the sex offender registry discovered that he had not updated his registration and she notified authorities.
