Feb 28, 2008 - Randy Nack, 32, an Escondido High School art teacher, was arrested on suspicion of having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old female student.
He was booked on suspicion of contact with a minor with the intent of 
committing a sex offense, sexual penetration of a minor and oral copulation with a minor,
He has been the subject of an ongoing investigation since January. He has been on paid administrative leave since the investigation began.

Feb 29 - San Diego Union-Tribune: Nack is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail.
Nack describes himself as a 1994 Escondido High School graduate on the school's Web site. “I am happily married to my lovely wife, Katie, who is also a teacher,” Nack wrote on the Web site. He lists his hobbies as swimming, surfing and collecting old John Deere farm equipment.NOT GUILTY PLEA March 6 - Nack pleaded not guilty. Judge Marshall Hockett scheduled a preliminary hearing for May 7.
Besides educational information and classes taught, the Web site listing includes motivation for becoming a teacher. Nack wrote, “The great teachers and coaches at EHS inspired me to pursue a career change to teaching.”
LEGAL In a preliminary hearing, a judge will determine if there is sufficient evidence to force the defendant to stand trial. In making this determination, the judge uses the "probable cause" legal standard, deciding whether the government has produced enough evidence to convince a reasonable jury that the defendant committed the crime(s) charged.
GUILTY PLEA July 3 - Nack pleaded guilty to three counts involving one victim, including unlawful sex with a minor. He pleaded guilty to a fourth count of sexual assault with a second victim for an incident sometime between Oct. 15 and Nov. 30, 2007.
A District Attorney's Office spokesman said the victims were 17 and 16. Sentencing was set for Aug. 27.
For the yearbooks: Nack graduated from Escondido High School in 1994 and began teaching art there in 2004. He is married. His wife is also a teacher.
