Jan 21, 2008 - The school district is adopting new field trip accounting rules after Heather Bollen, 35, was indicted and arrested on felony charges of theft and unauthorized use of property.

Over a two-year period Bollen is accused of pocketing between $5,000 and $25,000, according to prosecutors. The exact amount is still being determined. Bollen worked for the district from 1997 to June 2007, last earning $61,984 a year. The investigation began when a parent chaperone didn’t think $250 per child had been spent on a trip and complained to the district. Parents were charged for the art field trip.

The district looked into the complaint and discovered Bollen had deposited some of the money into her personal account – after already having been warned by the district that all money must go through district accounts.

The school district is the Indian Hill Exempted Village School District. Bollen was an art teacher at the Indian Hill Middle School before she resigned.

COURT DATE RESCHEDULED (AGAIN) June 12 - A court date has been delayed for the sixth time. On June 10, Heather Bollen was scheduled for a plea or trial-setting in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.But Judge Melba Marsh continued the action until July 18. She has moved to Tucson, Arizona.
