"I sent her to school to get an education.”
Jan 16, 2008 - That's how a parent put it when she found out that a school nurse at her daughter's school featured her 17-year-old daughter and another former student in a risque calendar.
Ayanna Green-Williams, 28, is a licensed practical nurse and an employee of Kaleida Health, which provides nurses to the Buffalo Public Schools. She worked at Burgard Vocational High School.
The student says she saw the advertisement for a casting call in July after she graduated and didn't know Green-Williams was the person who registered the company and was producing the calendar when she went to the casting call. Told the girl, who is now attending college, is still only 17, Green-Williams said the young woman signed a photo release stating that she was 18.
Green-Williams said the House of B&B is a members-only club. Asked where the club is, she said it is in New York City. “My part is the local part,” she said, “an annual calendar. If someone has something that needs models, I can do a casting.”
In December when the girl was home from college for the Christmas break, the mother learned that girl went went with Green-Williams to clubs in the Chippewa District to promote the calendar.
"Something has to be done,” the mother said. “We can’t be having [employees in schools] doing this stuff.”
TT - If someone wanted to help recruit for soft porn, what would be more reassuring to young women than someone they know? It certainly is an unusual hobby. How many school nurses do you know who produce soft porn calendars in their spare time?
Look at the New York State Assessments of Buffalo City Schools from GreatSchools.net Yikes. For a cost of $15,686 per pupil. Schooldigger ranks Burgard Vocational High School 785th (out of 799 public high schools).
Make sure to read the comments at the news story. The vast majority think that the issue was that of the student lying about her age rather than the off-duty hobby of the school nurse. Two caught our eye. Link and Link
And even the student responded. Link She says her mother drove her to one photo shoot.
We think Jerry Springer should camp out Buffalo. Or maybe he's already spent too much time there.
