William Sawicz, 31, a Spanish teacher at John F. Kennedy Middle School on child pornography charges.
Sawicz became the focus of a federal investigation last month after agents with the FBI's Child Exploitation Unit in Manhattan linked him to June downloads from a Web site for computer users who trade and possess child pornography, according to a federal application for an arrest warrant.
Last Wednesday, agents interviewed Sawicz at his home, where he agreed to allow investigators to search a laptop he received for Christmas, court papers said. The search turned up images and videos of boys and girls, ages 10 to 12, having sex, according to the documents.
He said that he had been downloading and viewing child pornography for about a year. He admitted downloading images on another computer that he discarded months ago.
NY Daily News: Sawicz had 80 images of children, some as young as 10, photographed naked and sometimes engaged in sex acts.
