Substitute teacher allegedly pulls 14-year-old girl out of class for sex.
Dec 13, 2007 - Patrick Arguello, 21, a San Antonio substitute teacher, was arrested, charged with improper relationship wi th a student and sexual assault of a child.
The 14-year-old girl from Scobee Junior High School came forward to say that Arguello got her out of class early Friday and had sex with her in his car in a parking lot near school property. Authorities confiscated Arguello's car in a parking lot near the school.
Sheriff's investigators said Arguello admitted to having sex with the girl, but claims it was consensual. The act would still be considered a crime since the girl is 14-years-old.
Investigators are now concerned about Arguello's other students. He taught a variety of classes in the seventh and eighth grades. He'd only been employed three weeks.
"He came onto her and being a child, she followed his lead," said Sgt. Chris Bruschell of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. "This young lady felt it was her fault. We had to explain to her that she was taken advantage of."TT - Even if she had been of legal age, it is unlawful in Texas to have sex with students.
