
Dec 6, 2007 - Timothy W. Erwin, 31, a special education teacher at New Castle Alternative School, was arrested and charged with three felony counts of child seduction after a female student accused him of fondling, kissing and having sex with her.
Erwin was suspended with pay beginning Nov. 21 after police were contacted by child protective services. The girl is at least 16 years old but less than 18, police said.
Erwin's trial is scheduled for March 12.
Dec 7 - Ch 6 News: Erwin has been a teacher for more than seven years. Police said another student reported seeing Erwin and the teen kiss in the hallway on at least one occasion.
Dec 7 - The Star Press: Erwin also faces a single Class A misdemeanor charge of interfering with the reporting of a crime. Court papers indicate Erwin told the girl not to tell anyone about his actions.
Dec 7 - WISHtv 8 reports that police report says there may be three more victims. The report says Erwin told police, "he was in shock by the allegation," and that he had, "never kissed or touched the victim inappropriately."
