Belmar, NEW JERSEY

Dec 1, 2007 - Bartholomew McInerney, (Coach Bart) 41, a baseball coach at St. Rose High School, was arrested and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child after allegedly encouraging two minors to engage in sexual activity, including offering to pay them to masturbate.

Ages for the boys were not given.

Police were alerted when investigators learned that students at the high school said McInerney had engaged in inappropriate interaction with students at the high school

WBSTV Ch2 reports that McInerney had the students fondle themselves on video for his own personal viewing. His alleged actions apparently went on until someone in the community decided to step up and report him to authorities.

NJ.com: reports that prosecutor said McInerney paid at least one of the alleged victims several times during several months.
