Sept 13, 2007 - Jerrold Rittmann, 69, a retired teacher, was arrested on suspicion of engaging in three or more acts of substantial sexual conduct with a child under the age of 14, committing a lewd act on a child by use of force or fear and sexual penetration with a foreign object.
Police said an adult woman told them in July that Rittmann molested her multiple times when she was a juvenile.They said that during their subsequent investigation Rittmann admitted molesting "others" but didn't disclose the names of all his victims.Livermore police say that based on Rittmann's statements, investigators believe he has molested additional victims.He is being held on $1 million bail.
San Jose Mercury: Three victims, including the woman who came forward, have been identified. Police say some molestations may have occurred in the past year.
