June 20, 2007 - Charges were dropped against a 36-year-old an Adair County Middle School teacher. He had been indicted by a grand jury in 2006.
Earlier this week Commonwealth Attorney Brian Wright made a motion to dismiss the charges saying there wasn’t any proof a crime was committed.TT - Who advised the grand jury that it was a crime?
Wright said evidence at trial would show any relations between the defendant and the female did not occur until after the female’s 16th birthday.
Wright noted Kentucky law doesn’t criminalize sexual contact between individuals if both parties are over the age of 16 and the sexual contact is consensual.
