Apr 1, 2007 - Thomas Wallace, 40, a band teacher at Youth Middle School, was arrested after funds from a band fund-raiser last summer allegedly were never turned in to school officials.
The charge is theft by conversion. Funds from a band fund-raiser allegedly were never turned in to schools officials. School investigators set up a time for a stipulated polygraph test on March 13, which would have been admissible in court, but Wallace did not show up and the next day a warrant was issued for his arrest. Later in the interview Wallace reportedly said that someone broke into his office, where he was keeping the cash, and stole the money. However, he never reported the crime.
