"You effectively made her a prostitute," said 3rd District Court Judge Terry Christiansen.
ARRESTED Mar 15, 2007 - Rodrigo Garza, 35, a Copper Hills High School baseball coach, was arrested for having sex with a student. He is charged with first degree felony rape of a child and two third degree felony charges of having unlawful sexual relations with a 14 or 15-year-old.
Garza is facing the more serious charge of "rape of a child" because sexual relations took place when the girl was 13 years old and the lesser charges took place after the girl had turned 14. Statutory charges apply when the minor is 13 years old or younger.Investigators say the charges stem from an 18-month sexual relationship Garza had with a girl from another school in the area. The investigation is ongoing.

This girl is young enough to be your daughter, not your girlfriend," Christiansen said. " . . . If you had a 13-year-old I would almost guarantee you you would be appalled if someone did that with your daughter."TT - Registration as a sex offender would have been nice, but maybe it is automatic.
