Richard Krisniski, 47, an English teacher at International Academy, was charged with five felonies, including one count of child sexually abusive activity and four counts of using a computer to communicate with another to commit a crime.

The oral sex he was trying to arrange with a 14-year-old boy turned out to be a rendevous with a deputy with the Macomb Area Computer Enforcement team.

"The International Academy has repeatedly been named among the top schools in the nation by Newsweek magazine, including a No. 1 ranking on 2003 and No. 2 in 2005." Krisniski was suspended indefinitely.

Update: A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 26.

Update Mar 27 - At the preliminary, it was determined to proceed to trial. An arraignment is scheduled for April 9

Update Apr 10 - Krisniski pleaded guilty before Macomb Circuit Judge Diane Druzinski under an agreement with Macomb County prosecutors. In exchange for pleading guilty t to child sexually abusive activity for arranging a meeting with what he thought was a 14-year-old boy he met online, prosecutors dropped two charges of using a computer to commit a crime.

He will be sentenced on May 15.

Krisniski, who is married and has two children ages 15 and 17, continues to be held at the Macomb County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Update May 15 - Krisniski was sentenced to at least one year in prison.
