Feb 15,2007 - Cynthia Renard, 32, a teacher at Martinsville High School, was arrested and charged with felony child seduction. She engaged in sexual contact with a 16-year-old student.
After a four-week investigation, Renard turned herself in Wednesday night.
Felony child seduction is a crime in Indiana as defined . In essence, it is illegal for adults in a supervisory position of a minor aged 16 and 17 to have consensual sex with them. The crime called "felony child seduction", a Class D felony, carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
