SENTENCED
Jan 1, 2007 - Jeffrey Mark Branson, 46, a high school band director at Barron Collier High School, who was convicted of having sex with a 12-year-old boy is now in prison. He was arrested July 8, 2005 when the boy came forward.

In October he pleaded no contest to lewd and lascivious battery. He was sentenced to 45 years in prison, but 33 years were suspended as long as Branson turned himself in by January 2nd.

Branson apparently had several sexual encounters with a 12-year-old that he met in a gay oriented on-line chat room.

Once he is released from prison Branson will have serve 10 years on probation and register as a sex offender. Branson also has to surrender his teaching certificate.
