Dec 5, 2006 - A parent has obtained an arrest warrant against Ben Hamilton, a principal at Central Elementary School for assault after the principal "paddled" the boy. "McGuire said his son had bruises on his buttocks in the shape of a paddle a week later."
Hamilton's lawyer said he has filed a motion to dismiss the warrant because Hamilton is immune from prosecution under state law. Principals have the right to use necessary force to promote discipline.

"If I'd hit my child that hard, they would have slapped the handcuffs on me 30 minutes after they found the welts on his butt and put him in a foster home," [the parent] said.
