TRIAL "MOVED BACK : August 22 - The pre-trial conference has been rescheduled for Nov 5 due to the illness of Moore's lawyer. Trial is scheduled for Dec. 4-10.

GUILTY PLEA Nov 25 - Moore pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

Moore was set to stand trial on Dec. 4 for sexual exploitation of a child - a felony charge that could have put him in state prison for six years. His plea agreement with the district attorney's office dropped that charge and added one for possession of sexually exploitive material, a misdemeanor.

Deputy District Attorney Gail Nichols said they backdated the plea agreement to June 30, 2006, because on July 1, Colorado law elevated sexual exploitation of a child from a misdemeanor to a class-4 felony.
Nichols recommended that Moore be sentenced to three years of probation with no jail time. She said Pitkin County Social Services investigated whether Moore should continue to serve as a single parent to his teenage stepson. They concluded it was in the best interest of the boy to continue living with Moore, unless his psychological evaluation proved he is a threat.

He will be sentenced Feb 4.
