Sacramento, CALIFORNIA

Feb 14, 2007 - Kevin Coe, 28, an El Camino Fundamental High School coach, was convicted by a jury on two counts of annoying and molesting a teenager.

Prosecutors say Coe repeatedly propositioned a 16-year-old boy during the 2005-2006 school year. Coe threatened to kill himself several times when the sophomore student turned him down. Coe was arrested last July. Authorities say the teenager didn't initially report his coach because the basketball team was winning and Coe was popular.

He will be sentenced March 20.

SENTENCED March 12, 2008 - Coe was sentenced to three years' SUSPENDED sentence and will have to serve five months in jail - not prison. He must register as a sex offender FOR LIFE.
