Sentenced to 78 months in a federal prison and a LIFETIME of supervised release.
GUILTY PLEA: Sept 27, 2007 -
Marc Sardella, 48, a teacher at the Gardner-Dickinson Elementary School, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography. He taught music at the school for over 20 years.
He was arrested in January 2006. Sardella will be sentenced Jan. 23, 2008. He was released pending his sentencing.
Investigators say they found more than 600 images of child pornography on his home computer which was recovered by police and the F.B.I.
Feb 27 - Sentencing for Sardella has been postponed. No reason given.
SENTENCED March 13 - Sardella was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Lawrence E. Kahn to 78 months in federal prison. He was ordered to serve a life time term of supervised release, no contact with minor children and registration with the New York State Sex Offender Registry Program.
