June 5, 2007 - Richard Campbell, 64, a teacher at Biscayne Gardens Elementary School,** was arrested and charged with sexual battery of an incapacitated person, armed kidnapping and tampering or threatening a witness.
He is accused of threatening, kidnapping and raping the 22-year-old handicapped woman he met while taking classes at Miami Dade college.

** Miami Herald describes Campbell as a paraprofessional who works with handicapped students. Curiously, they also state, "The arrest was his first in Miami-Dade County." Police say Campbell confessed. Campbell's brother reportedly said that ''I think he wanted to marry her,'' `I think this is a misunderstanding. I don't comprehend it.''
