Dec 18, 2007 - Allan Hulme, 60, a Novato elementary school teacher, was arrested for engaging in sexual acts with a boy who is now 16 years old.
The victim reported that since the summer of 2005, Hulme engaged in 50 to 60 sexual acts with him. The victim was 13 when the acts began. On some occasions, the suspect restrained the victim against his will. Last week the victim reported the acts to a therapist — the allegations were ultimately reported to Novato Police Department.Hulme was charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, lewd acts with a child, oral copulation by force and false imprisonment, all felonies. The victim is a neighborhood boy.
Police have been working on the case for about two months. Bail was originally set at $150,000 and was enhanced to $500,000. Novato hasn't worked at the school 'for some time'.
