Nov 13, 2007 - David L. Mindick, 61, a substitute teacher at Manatee Elementary School, was sentenced to 225 days in jail - not prison - and five years probation for lewd and lascivious molestation of victims younger than age 12.
Originally charged with six counts of felony sexual battery, Mindick pleaded guilty to one felony count and four counts of misdemeanor sexual battery because one alleged victim did not make a deposition and prosecutors admitted trouble showing lewd intent.The six girls were 8-years-old. They said he improperly touched their chests or backsides. They told school authorities in Dec 2005.
Nov 13 - As a condition of his probation, Mindick must submit to an annual polygraph test, will not be allowed to teach or substitute teach, cannot have any contact with the girls involved in this case, continue mental health counseling and cannot work in places where children congregate, such as schools or shopping malls
