
ARRESTED:
June 5, 2007 - Emmanuel “Manny” Reyes, 49, who recently served as associate principal of Lyons Township High School (from 1994-2005), was arrested for embezzlement in connection with an educational software company.
Reyes is the company’s chief operating officer. He was arrested along with his two associates — the chief financial officer and bookkeeper. All face charges for collectively embezzling money from Collaborative Learning, an educational software business.
GUILTY PLEA AND SENTENCING: Reyes pleaded guilty on July 17. He was sentenced Aug 27 to four years in prison. The chief financial officer - Santosh Thomas, 43, pleaded guilty to stealing more than $450,000. He will be sentenced Feb 15.
