Jan 17, 2007 - Willie Redd, 54, a special education teacher at Warren’s Alden Elementary School, was charged with permitting drug abuse. She admitted she knew of drug use by her husband and allowed drugs in the house.

Redd, a teacher for 31 years and twice recognized as a Tribune Chronicle A-plus teacher, is on paid leave and is working from home.

Her husband "was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Lordstown and Warren police departments. His son, Stanley E. Redd Jr., was a former Tribune Chronicle Fugitive of the Week — wanted on drug possession charges — and had police not caught up with the father in Warren, the elder Redd also would have been in the weekly feature, police said."

Redd is the second area educator to be charged recently. David G. Nenzoski, 49, of Windham, resigned his position as part-time high school band teacher at Windham High School after being accused of sexual misconduct involving one of his 13-year-old pupils.
