Clayton, NORTH CAROLINA

Jan 8, 2007 - Anita Marie Dankin, 41, a substitute special education teacher at a East Clayton Elementary School, was arrested and charged in connection with allegations that she assaulted her own autistic child.

Several faculty members told investigators that Anita Marie Dankin, slammed her son's head against the floor and then kicked him. Dankin is charged with two counts of child abuse.

She is no longer approved to teach for the school system.
